Us duck hunters (I'm retired from that sport now) loved those prairie potholes. They were known down here as the Canadian duck factory....:) As to Laura Engels Wilder I taught several descendants of the Wilder family here in Spring Valley.
Very interesting, about your teaching Wilder family members. I've read her biography - quite a phenomenal woman, for any era. Looks like a good duck hunting year, by the way.
