Thanks, Scott. We usually don't have more than a few Cattle Egrets here, usually seen during the Spring migration. However, this year - unbelievable numbers, all thanks to the flooding in Spring of 2011. I'm composing an info post about Cattle Egrets; hopefully have that up in a day or two.
Thanks, Luna. Ron Weasly, indeed It was, in fact, rather magical finding all these Cattle Egrets around this year - not usual in my (dry prairie) part of the country.
Very interesting. I've never had the opportunity to see a cattle egret before. They're a sharp-looking bird with the reddish plumes on the head.
